Criminal Damage
(Northern Ireland) Order 1977
Under the Criminal Damage Compensation Scheme you may be entitled to claim compensation for loss suffered as a result of malicious or wanton damage to agricultural property or in the case of other property, as a result of damage caused by an unlawful assembly of three or more persons or by terrorist acts. In all cases, damage must have occurred in Northern Ireland.
To apply for compensation, you must complete a Notice of Intention (C1 Form). A copy of the form must go to the police station nearest to where the damage occurred.
Each application is determined on its own merits and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the 1977 Order.
Please note that we cannot consider claims for damage to property/vehicles which occurred outside Northern Ireland.
