Justice and Security (NI) Act 2007
The Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007 Compensation Scheme provides a right to claim compensation from the Secretary of State for loss or damage suffered as a result of action taken under the Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007.
To apply for compensation, you must contact the Agency to obtain an application form*. Each application for compensation is determined on its own merits and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the 2007 Act. Schedule 4 of the Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007 states that the payment of legal costs in this type of claim is entirely at the discretion of the Agency.
